Men's press conference/Women pregame

Welcome to another fun-filled day in Oklahoma City. The pictures you're seeing are from the ISU men's presser, compliments of Daily photographer Ross LaDue. Check out the Daily for more of Ross's photos, including tournament photos and men's basketball practice photos.

The ISU men seem revved up and ready to roll tomorrow -- gametime is at 11:30 a.m. at the Ford Center. It's going to be on ESPN Plus. More on the ISU men later tonight.

The major event of today is the ISU women's game, though. 2:30 tipoff against No. 4 seed Nebraska -- and Iowa State is 3-0 against Nebraska all-time in the Big 12 Tourney. Something's gotta give!
Interesting notes from the little pregame pep rally the Cyclones were having today:

ISU President Greg Geoffroy addressed the crowd in his patented red blazer. Doing what seemed to be his best Howard Dean impression, Geoffroy provided, without question, the Quote of the Day: "We're going to show Nebraska who the REAL BIG RED IS!!!" (all while screaming)

Of course, no ISU pep rally would be complete without Alumni Association President Jeff Johnson. In addition to being Iowa State's biggest cheerleader, Johnson also had a good one-liner -- "As Visine says, we're going to get the red out!!" Good times had by all.

Things to watch for in today's matchup:

1) Medders/Ronhovde getting hot early. If they do that, it will be EXTREMELY difficult for Nebraska to shut down the Cyclones.

2) Another strong performance by Wieben is needed. Look for her to pop a couple of threes, too. Last night's was a clutch three, and if she has the look, I guarantee you she'll take it.

3) Shut down Kiera Hardy. Hardy is one heck of a player, and the Cyclones need to focus in on her. Wieben and Pierson should undoubtedly have the lane covered, so it's up to the guards to contain Hardy.

4) Don't start cold. The Cyclones started insanely cold yesterday, and 24 points at the half will not cut it. Ask Colorado, who only has 38 points against No. 1 seed Texas A&M with 3:57 left. They're down by almost 20...

That's it. Check back in during the game for updates every 10 minutes (game clock time). Thanks for reading.
