Game on!

Here we go, the clocks are set, the anthem sung and starters announced. Here's your lineup for Iowa State:

4 Alison Lacey
5 Nicky Wieben
14 Lyndsey Medders
31 Megan Ronhovde
41 Toccara Ross

Here's how I'm going to run it: the number before the comment will indicate the minutes gone by, etc...

20:00 Wieben wins the tip to Ross.

19:40 2-0 ISU, Ross puts in a rebounded layup. Ronhovde missed a three, but it was right there. Both teams seem a little on edge right now.

18:15 Off to a slow start, still 2-0 Cyclones. There have already been a good number of turnovers on both ends. Fennelly took Wieben out of the game, and replaced her with Rachel Pierson.

16:55 Solid defense by Ronhovde, forcing another KSU turnover. Shooting is pretty bad on both ends, though. STILL 2-0.

15:53, Ross with another offensive rebound and putback. Score: Toccara Ross 4, Kansas State 0.

First media timeout, and it's been rough going for both teams. Still, you gotta think both teams will heat up, but at the same time, one team should be taking advantage of the other's cold shooting. On a side note, the ISU pep band is rocking out right now, they have press row bobbing its head in satisfaction. Sweet.

15:26 There it is, Wieben getting involved underneathe. Draws the foul and sinks both free throws. Cyclones up 6-0.

13:48 Wieben tries a three. Misses it. I admire the try, though, and I can say you heard it here first.

12:46 Wieben called for a foul, about 5 seconds after the play occured. Needless to say, Wild Bill and the rest of the ISU clan aren't very happy. KSU notched its first points of the game on these free throws, and trail just 6-1 now. And I was hoping to see a shutout.

11:39 KSU gets its first field goal of the GAME.

Side note -- Looking at the Colorado/Texas Tech program, Colorado has a woman named Whitney Houston on its team. I wonder if she sang the national anthem before the game. That would be cool.

Cy busted out the game jersey and headband. Kansas State's mascot looks like it is straight out of He-Man or Transformers. A man's body with a cat's head. Classy.

10:58 Another late whistle against the Cyclones, and while it was clearly a foul, it seems like the refs are watching the game on tape delay. Two made free throws later, Iowa State leads 8-5.

10:15 Medders buries a three. She needed that, as she missed a layup the possession before. Nothin but net.

HALFWAY THROUGH THE FIRST HALF: Iowa State 11, Kansas State 7
