I'm very surprised at the KSU turnout, pretty disappointing. Iowa State has 5 hours further to travel, and they outnumber Wildcat fans at least 3-to-1
8:28 Cyclones 14, Wildcats 7. It's a defensive struggle right now. Neither of these teams are used to their shots not falling, and neither am I for that matter.
7:30 ISU Pep band heckles free-throw shooter by chanting, "You're shooting a greasy bowling ball." puzzling....
7:00 Who wants a turnover? They're going at a 2-for-1 rate right now. 12 total tournovers.
5:41 Score is 14-10 ISU. This game hasn't started out pretty, that's for sure. Noone can put the ball in the basket.
4:57 Same score, but Ezell draws a foul on a layup. Buries both throws, 16-10 ISU
4:06 I'm convinced, the refs are just two seconds behind the game. Another horribly late whistle is making all the ISU fans restless. Out of K-State's 12 points, 6 of them are free throws, The Wildcats are 0-for-13 on 3-pointers.
The best part about K-State's mascot? You can see his human neck under the animal mask. I just can't get over how tacky that costume is. So you'll probably hear about it fifty more times before the game's end. Sorry.
The ISU pep band tried to alter "Hey, Go State!" to "Hey, Go Clones!" in an effort to distance themselves from another State University. Good times had by all.
2:44 after an easy backdoor play, Bill Fennelly wants a 30 second time out. Two defensive breakdowns in a row could be cause for concern...if K-State could hit a shot. 16-15 ISU.
2:13 Ross hits a jumper. Score: Kansas State 15, Ross 6 (ISU 18, KSU 15)
1:43 Ross buries two free throws. Score: Kansas State 15, Ross 8 (ISU 20, KSU 15)
10.6 seconds left. After Fennelly talks to Medders in the backcourt, taking the shot clock down to 10 seconds, the play works to perfection. Medders kicked it to Amanda Nisleit, who was fouled while shooting a three. Nisleit made 2-of-3. ISU 24, K-State 17.
3.0 K-State hits its first 3-pointer of the game.
HALF: Iowa State 24, Kansas State 20
